The conference will take place in the heart of the old town of Salzburg, at the Edmundsburg (Edmundsburg, Mönchsberg 2, 5020 Salzburg) – a 17th century villa with a wonderful view of the old town of Salzburg. The building is located above the Salzburg Festival Theatre atop the Mönchsberg and can be reached using a lift or by taking a unique, albeit steep, staircase.
Travel Information
Coming from the main train station (Salzburg Hauptbahnhof), take bus line 1 (direction “Europark”), and coming from the Airport, take bus line 10 (direction “Zentrum/Sam”) to the bus stop “Herbert-von-Karajan-Platz“. From the bus stop, continue straight into the Hofstallgasse, past the Festival Houses (Festspielhaus). At the end of the Hofstallgasse, turn right through an arch into the Toscaninihof where you enter the Altstadtgaragen-Tunnel. There, you will find the lift to the Edmundsburg on your left. Alternatively, you can walk from the Toscaninihof up the stairs on the right (Clemens-Holzmeister-Stiege) to the Edmundsburg on the Mönchsberg.
Bus tickets can be bought at bus stations, online or in local tobacco stores (called Trafik), where they are a bit cheaper. More information on the public transport in Salzburg can be found here: www.salzburg-verkehr.at.
If you take a Taxi, please give “Toscaninihof” as your destination. From there you can reach the Edmundsburg – according to the above description – using the lift in the Altstadtgaragen-Tunnel or alternatively via the Clemens-Holzmeister-Stiege.
